Cost of injectables without any insurance..
So I'm obviously going to talk this over with my RE but I just want to get some thoughts.
I've done 4 rounds of Clomid (50 mg) since November- 3 were with IUIs, one was with timed intercourse. All BFN. The thing is, my body responds very well to Clomid. I produced 2 follicles during 2 cycles, and 3 follicles during the other 2 cycles. And my lining doesn't get affected either. My RE seems impressed with the follicles and lining.
But, despite all of that, I still can't get PG.
I'm taking a month off now. I just did 2 back to back cycles of Clomid and my skin needs a break. I'm going to my RE next Friday for natural cycle monitoring.
If I don't get PG this month, I'm thinking of doing injectables with IUI next. My insurance covers NO fertility medications. How much are the injectables?? Thousands right??
On the other hand, Clomid is around $50. And I respond pretty well to it. Should I give it a few more tries?
Thoughts?

Totally depends on what you take and how much of it. Sometimes your re office will donate some meds. We are oop for ivf and this time I had left over meds and donated and still payed 3k

Injectables can be a few thousand, depending on the medication and dosage you are prescribed. Check with your RE, they may be able to donate the meds to offset the cost. I was lucky enough to receive some meds from one of the ladies on here- saved me so much money OOP. Good Luck

All my meds were OOP and we spent thousands monthly, unfortunately not enough for the irs to let us declare it thou. I have a new follitsim pen with a 600 cart that's in the fridge that you can have, it expires in June.

Re: Cost of injectables without any insurance..
Injectables vary in price. I did a lot of research online and over the phone - called many specialty pharmacies to find out prices once my RE told me what I needed - Freedom, CVS Caremark, Walgreens, some smaller pharmacies in my area too. I was blessed enough to receive almost everything I needed from a wonderful poster on here and the rest donated to me by my RE's office. Make sure you ask them!

Thanks for the offer! I have to see what my RE says. I'm personally leaning towards 1 more try with the Clomid. I know I already did 4 but I did produce 2-3 follicles on it. And it's soooo much cheaper than the injectables! I will contact you if I need the follitsim pen but if anyone else needs it before me, then please give it to them, and don't wait for me. Thanks again!
