How much does it cost to renovate kitchen from home depot? ?
I just want to place the cabinets, countertop and add black splash to wall. I was thinking to go through home depot. Can some please tell me an estimate and how long did it take ? Thanks

You would need to know the size/dimensions of your kitchen, the type of cabinet you want, the type of counter etc.

The estimate would depend on which cabinets, counter tops and back splash you pick, as well as the size of you kitchen. Do you want stock cabinets or custom? If your cabinets are in good shape, you can look into refacing to possibly save some money (and time). You can go in and get a free estimate from them. You'll need your measurements and they do it up on the computer for you.
You may want to compare their installation to other contractors.
I have a list of places I shopped around a year ago if you want to pm me your email I'll send it.

Re: How much does it cost to renovate kitchen from home depot? ?
From experience, places like home depot and lowes are definitely more costly than if you were to use a private contractor and order your materials from other companies.
For example, I had a quote done at home depot. Their most affordale line of cabinets would cost be 14K. For 52 sq ft of granite, would cost 6K.
So I was at 20K, not including labor.
I then researched and found the same cabinets through an online retailer for 7K (including tax and shipping).
I then went to several granite fabricators and most quotes were 3K for 52 sq ft.
So I saved 10K on the cabinets and granite...
Yet, its always difficult to give someone a round about when your kitchen could be half the size of mine or double the size...this factor obviously changes the costs drastically.
Also, the kind of cabinets you want, kind of granite...these all play a large part of the cost.

In my experiance Home Depot was much more expensive. For example they gave me a estimate of 16,000 just for cabinets and I ended up getting custom cabinets for 11,000 from my contractor :). I have a great contractor if you want his info !

I also forgot to add, places like Home Depot dont have their own contractors/installers. Everything is sub-contracted which means for example, ABC Contracting is an independent contractor that has their own license and contracting work, but home depot signs a contract with ABC contracting agreeing that they will also do work on behalf of Home depot...so if you think about it...the contractor has to get paid and then home depot needs to get paid...so you are paying 2 companies for labor instead of just one.
Just food for thought.
