moving co
just trying to get an idea of what is the average going rate for a moving company if we are moving two bedrooms, dining and living room?
I know it depends how many boxes, etc but the quotes i have been receiving have been all over the place.
TIA

Re: moving co
It also depends on how far you're moving, if there are steps, tolls, anything they're packing, etc.
It's not the estimate $$ amount that's so important. Really you want to compare how much you're paying per hour and how many men they're giving you. One company could say 5 hours, another 8 hours. But, if they both quote you $150/hr, then it's really the same thing, assuming both will give the same number of men and work at equal paces (which you can't plan for). Then take a look at what extras you're paying for (ie: some throw in wardrobe boxes, others charge $50 per box).

I paid $900 with tip for the above... Moved from Queens to Long Island. Used college hunks and they were amazing. They also quoted the least but the average i received was about $1400 for the move.
