OB vent

I had a beta/prog done at my OB's office on Monday. This was at my request- my OB insisted my progesterone was low because I was having trouble conceiving. She was nowhere to be found when I got my BFP on Saturday, but the covering OB (same practice) told me progesterone wouldn't help me this early (?!) and that I'd need blood, but nothing more- no attempt to set up, etc.

It is now Wednesday afternoon. I haven't heard back, called and was connected to a line to leave a VM. FTR, my OB was so insistent I had a progesterone problem that she wanted to put me on clomid next cycle. I have yet to speak with her or get my results. I also had to explain how hormones work to the nurse who drew my blood because she had never heard of a beta/prog being repeated.

I was not expecting the BFP- I have an RE appt next week. Obviously, I'm thrilled but also terrified of something going wrong.

Is is unreasonable to call back and outright demand to speak with my doctor? I used to work in a doctors office and know better than to get the staff pissed but I'm really nervous and don't think I'm asking too much.

Yes I would demand to speak with my OB especially since you got a BFP and if your progesterone is in fact low you should get the progesterone supps.

I don't think a day and a half (or two is a long time to wait for results). I do disagree with the other ob though that progesterone won't help this early on.

She just called back, beta was 227? I was more concerned about progesterone so I forgot! And progesterone 22. I was 15dpo. She said I don't have to repeat but I will cause I'm overly cautious.

Thank you for listening to my vent! You must think I'm nuts Chat Icon

Not nuts. Normal. Progesterone is good. Was this the on,y beta you had? Most important is that it doubles every 48 hours. Normally you go in and then again two days later.
