Holy giant baby!
39w5d here. Just had my third growth sono today and baby girl is measuring 10lbs 3 oz!!! Wow. I don't really have anything to say but wow.
Have a dr appt tonight and we will discuss my birth plan, but sounds like all signs pointing toward c-section.
Any advice and hugs are appreciated! Just hoping baby girl is healthy most of all.

This happen to me , at 39 weeks he measures 10.13 , he was delivered via c section at 41 weeks weighing 9.15. They can be off 1 lb either up or down. We did a c section based of his cheat measurements . Good luck

Did you feel satisfied with your choice? I feel like, with the information I have, c-section is the only viable option. And I don't want to wait another week either, she's only going to get bigger! I'll be happy if they're a pound off in the lesser direction, but that's still a big baby!

Holy giant baby!
In my experience, they had DD measuring over a lb bigger than she was.
Go with your gut and don't let your dr pressure you in any way.

Re: Holy giant baby!
I don't feel pressured at all! The information I have, after 3 growth sonos and 2 diabetes tests is that my baby is large! The Drs told me they feel the measurements are good and they feel accurate. They did say there are occasions where a baby is measuring large, but they aren't getting good measurements - and that isn't the case, they say.
Of course there is room for error but I don't think my drs would make me go through all the extra testing and a second glucose test if they didn't have a legitimate concern about the size.
I'm just talking it out for myself, but that is the information I have about my case in particular. A friend was told her baby was measuring large but they never made her go back for additional growth sonos or do a second diabetes test, so to me, that says they knew their measurements weren't maybe that accurate.

I know, I will see what my dr says tonight. They could be wrong or they could be right! Either way, I feel like we need to make the call and not look back!

Holy giant baby!
My advice would be to go with your gut and make the decision that feels right to YOU. Don't let the doctor pressure you into anything you aren't comfortable with. My SIL was also having a "giant baby" that was measuring around 10lbs 3oz. She delivered a healthy 8lb 8oz baby. She too had numerous growth sonograms -- they aren't always right and can be off (in either direction) more than the 1lb guideline. Good luck!

Holy giant baby!
My DS was right on with size, but the deciding factor to go for the C section was the size of his head. If I had delivered him naturally, my OB said he would've had serious complications and I would probably have a fractured pelvis.

Re: Holy giant baby!
My sister's DD kept measuring large (over 10 pounds). She wound up delivering an 11 pound DD vaginally. Her DD's shoulder got stuck while coming out of the birth canal and she had to go to the ICU for a bit.

Re: Holy giant baby!
I would go over every measurement with your doctor and have them explain where this estimate is coming from. Meaning head size, femur length, etc. My DD was measured her birth weight at my 36 weeks growth sono - 9lbs+. My doctor looked at the measurements, felt the baby in my stomach and told me she wasn't that big YET. We were talking c-section though if I went to 40wks because of her head measurement - HUGE. I never finished the conversation as I delivered early, but I wanted to know as much as possible before making the decision. Go with your gut, if you want to try to deliver vaginally, they have to let you, but just be aware of the risks, and if you trust your doctors enough, then schedule a c-section. Most importantly, don't feel guilty about your decision, do what YOU feel is best for you and your baby.
ETA - I would also ask how accurate a growth sono is at 39wks+, from I've been told it's incredibly difficult to get good measurements at that point.

Big girl!!! You'll be just fine either way. If you end up having a CS, just take it easy and don't try to do too much too fast.

Holy giant baby!
I was told my DD would be over 10lbs so my OB said I had to have a c-section. Best choice for Mom and baby..I was devastated. She came in at 8.14...I was so upset. I felt they jumped the gun. Looking back though she was born healthy and safe and it was what it was. Just go with your gut instinct.

Re: Holy giant baby!
Thank you everyone! I realize there is a chance the measurements are off, and I do hope they are, but to be safe, I think its best for mom and baby to go through the surgery. I've never had surgery before, so I am nervous, but I appreciate all the kind words!
