Does your 5 year old watch non-cartoon shows?
DS wants to watch the comedy shows on Disney (like Sam and Cat, Dog with a Blog) more so than cartoons recently. I know the content isn't harmful per se but I'm wondering if the storyline is too advanced for a child not even in K.

My five year old is the youngest of three and I"m pretty sure he has never seen Sesame Street and really only watches what his sibs watch. If he doesn't catch on to the storyline, he doesn't seem to mind!

Yes he did at that age, I guess because of his older cousin. Her little sister also knew about those shows at an early age as well.

My DD started watching those kind of shows at 5. I honestly welcomed it, felt things can be learned from them (even if the content is mature). I figure if she had an older bro or sis she would be exposed regardless. Now at 6 she really likes KC Undercover, Dog with a Blog, etc. And honestly I find it much less annoying than Cartoons to have on. Some of the programs make me laugh.

My 8 year old has been over cartoons for a while now. But my 5 year old still prefers them over no -cartoon shows. I make them take turns picking

Does your 5 year old watch non-cartoon shows?
We don't have cable so he only watches what's available on Netflix. He occasionally watches live action movies like Spy Kids or the one with the talking dogs, but for the most part he's watching cartoons.

Exactly this, and I enjoy it because I'm more inclined to sit and watch with her then.

Yes, my DD does. She know refers to some cartoons, like Mickey Mouse, as baby shows and it makes me sad.

Same here but it's a good mix between cartoons and live people shows. He watches lab rats and some other Disney shows

Nope- not at all. All cartoons. Life in the Dreamhouse, My Little Pony, Paw Patrol, Jake & the Neverland Pirates, etc.
