How do you interview when you are still working?
I am in the DOE and I am currently interviewing for LI teaching and admin positions.
I feel that the schools are not very accommodating with the interview times, and it is requiring me to take a lot of time off of work.
How do you handle this? I feel bad missing, but I really want to come back to the island.

I'm not sure what you mean. Yes, you have to take time off. Interviews require a group of people to come together and they can only do that during the school day. I'm not sure when else the interviews would be. It stinks but hopefully it'll be worth it if you get a job!

How do you interview when you are still working?
Last year I just called out sick and used personal time. Sucked at the time but it was worth it in the end.

LI interviews were always during the day; city interviews were always after school. You do what you've got to do to get a job!

It's a fact of life. If your AP found a position they wanted to interview for in the suburbs, they would go. Don't feel guilty...
After budgets pass next week, there will only be more jobs posted...
