Curtains

I need curtains for my formal living room and dining room. I have a very large bay window in my LR and a decent size window in my DR.

Any recommendations? Either stores or even custom. I'm willing to spend a decent amount of $ but haven't really come across anything I like.

Re: Curtains

Oh girl! You have to call Empire!

My sister used Empire for her window treatments and they were fantastic. They use Hunter Douglas products although now they have other companies to offer as well.

But my sister had custom roman shades, pleated shades, etc. done for all of her windows and they are beautiful. The rep from Empire came to the house, free consult, and showed her big samples you can see right in front of you and test on the windows themselves. I highly recommend her salesperson, if she is still there, ASK FOR GIGI!!! She was FANTASTIC.

So good that a few months later my mom called and had Gigi from Empire come and do her windows. Now, my mom chose plantation shutters - gorgeous. The installer was such a pro. I cannot say enough great things about their customer service and the quality of the product received.

And recently, I have even seen some showrooms popping up here and there! They never had that before!

Some other options we priced out and you might want to look into: Budget Blinds (they were the priciest), Costco has a window treatment place, they use Hunter Douglas as well... But the best, price-wise, turnaround time, install, EVERYTHING was Empire... and especially because the salesperson was honestly, a designer, and helped us pick out what styles and colors.

Hope that helps! You'll love it!!! Chat Icon

Thanks for the info! Do they only do shades or curtains as well? I am really looking for curtains, which are surprisingly hard to find.

I called empire and requested Gigi - they told me you can't request anyone because they're basically a call center

Instead of a fantastic designer we got a creepy dude who didn't seem to know anything about what he was selling. Bummer

I did have a much better experience with Ira from Instant verticals though , in case you're still looking for recommendations.

Country Curtains in Manhasset has a great selection, very upscale and most styles are transitional, not all country looking.
