My latest find -- Etsy RAVE!!!

The necklace is beautiful! I love that it is personalized with his handwriting. I'm so happy you mentioned Dr. Serure because I need a dermatologist. I never really heard that much about her even though she's been in Smithtown so long. I was going to one all the way in Huntington because my sister uses the same one.

Normally $650.

But my dentist is running a special -- $500

I like that it is pretty much permanent. You take good care of your teeth and use the refresher stuff they give you from time and time and you're good to go!

Re: My latest find -- Etsy RAVE!!!

OK here's the deal on the make-up...

The foundation is actually a "Tinted Cream" -- that's what they call it at MAC. It comes in a white and silver tube. It is "MAC LIGHTFUL: TINTED CREAM" with an SPF 30 in it... it states "with radiance booster, broad spectrum" They have different shades, obviously, depending on your skin tone.

I'm the lightest, clearly Chat Icon

It goes on feeling super light and sheer so be careful because you only need to use such a small amount because even though it feels so weightless, a small amount goes a long way and the coverage is excellent. But it's funny, you might think to put more on than you need because of how light it feels. But it actually is excellent coverage-wise.

I put, total, less than a dime size in my palm and then use the brush to DOT it across my face - two small dots on each cheek, one small on the nose, two small dots on the forehead, and one on the chin and then take the brush and blend all the dots together to cover the face. And I usually just brush lightly a bit across the eye lids. Make sure it is all even, done.

The brush to apply it is MAC #190SE -- I mean, any liquid application brush they have will do but I love that one.

Make sure you also buy their brush cleaner and clean those babies as much as possible.

Over the tinted cream that I use as a foundation, I put a powder on just my nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead -- not near the eyes, that will make you look wrinkled... It is "MAC STUDIO FIX"

The highlighter I recommend for your brows, or your cheek, or anywhere - it is great, is "MAC LUNA, CREAM COLOUR BASE"

The under eye concealer which is heaven in a bottle is "MAC MINERALIZE LIQUID CONCEALER" and make sure to apply that with a brush as well. The applicator is a little q-tip looking thing that comes in the concealer tube -- I never use that, I dab a very small amount on a small brush that MAC can recommend and it makes for a much better application.

And I already posted the lip.

The other thing was the make-up primer cream. They have a bunch of great primer creams - any of them are great. I put that on my face first before I do anything. Makes the make-up go on very seamlessly.

All of the other stuff -- the eyeliner, the mascara I have mentioned just as long as you get the MAC Prep and Prime Lash Primer you can use any mascara and it is amazing. The blush depends on what color works best for your skin - I love all of MAC's blushes. And I think the brushes for application make the difference in how it looks.

I think I thought of everything...

Hope that helps!!!!

It takes time to get in with her - she books in advance, but she's so worth it. Also, I have seen her PA Kim who is wonderful as well.

Agree with everyone, love everything! Now this purple eyeliner thing lol, is it only for light eyes? I have dark brown. Just curious. Also, I'm in Massapequa and have been contemplating teeth whitening so that sounds interesting. Does it make your teeth sensitive at all? Is it an easy process?

It didn't state in the article about make up that makes you look younger -- it didn't say anything about certain color eyes. They just say that, regardless of anything else, the dark purple is not as harsh as black... So, evidently that gives a younger appearance and a younger look when applied as make-up.

The great part about the whitening -- only the KOR -- is that I had no sensitivity. I have friends who have done Bleach Brite, NightWhite, and Zoom -- each of them had some level of sensitivity. I had didn't have that with KOR and I followed the doc's instructions on how to make sure it stayed that way throughout the process... certain toothpaste, certain mouthwash, etc. But yeah KOR is known to be pretty easy on the sensitivity. Hope that helps! And I love Dr. Mohr so much. The process itself was super easy and what made it even easier is even though there are steps and you have to do some stuff at home -- his staff walks you through it in such detail and gives you amazing, easy-to-follow instructions. And it isn't time consuming. I have a 21 month old and it was easy-peasy!

OMG so you mean in this picture your makeup isn't professionally done????? I soooo would have thought you just had it done by a professional for a wedding or something. Your skin is flawless. I literally just wrote down every single piece of info you gave on the Mac make up lol. Actually it's funny. I never use Mac..... LIKE never. However... My wedding make up was all Mac and it was flawless and amazing. I always attributed it to the fact that it was done by an awesome make up artist. I'm sure that had to do with it but she ONLY recommended Mac products so maybe there's something to be said.

Aww, thank you!

No, she is right. The make-up is great and the application is key... not the person... the brushes!!

It's funny because I should add that I just found some great new stuff this weekend at MAC -- I am finding that I really love the mineralized line. Then I realized my under eye concealer (a lifesaver) is mineralized. So no wonder! So, I went and asked for the powder that I have -- the studio fix -- I asked for the same thing in the mineralized line. Amazing!! I mean, the studio fix is great but I love this too because it is so light. Then, I asked for the under eye primer -- so it is a little cream from the mineralized line that you dab on with your pinky finger before you put on your make up. It is amazing!!!! ELIMINATES any fine lines that might occur when you put concealer on. They have this to die for skincare line of lotions and creams that you can put on as primer under your make up. It makes the application so great and I find it gives me a nice glow.

Hope that helps!

I also picked up an awesome lip glass -- but I'm embarrassed to admit it is Viva Glam Miley Cyrus LOL. It is her color so I was kind of humiliated to buy it but who cares? The color is fabulous. With an awesome shimmer.

So I'm bumping this because after seeing yours I loved the idea.
I got one for my mom with my grandmothers signature.

Not sure about it. Doesn't look legible.

I HATE to say it but it doesn't look legible at all (the top I really couldn't figure out and the bottom looks like: YOU mom). Sorry to say it. :( I don't see how the owner even sent it out. They care about ratings on that site...maybe if you contact her, she'll resend one. That picture proves it's a crap shoot if you order from her and many would rethink ordering (I would) if you left a review. She should send a new one to avoid a poor review and to deliver on what you ordered too. GL!!

It's probably difficult because it's a few words--they need to attach them all so that'll add extra lines between each word making it hard to read.
Can you just do the "mom"? Or find something with her first name?

I was able to read Love Your Mom with no problem.
The other words all blend and it make very difficult to read.

ETS: I would absolutely contact the seller and let them know you aren't satisfied.

Re: My latest find -- Etsy RAVE!!! *Make-Up Update - PAGE 2*

I love the color you chose - the yellow gold.

I think the necklace chain and metal itself looks quality.

But, I agree with you and other posters that it is a little hard to read. It is not as clear as I think it could be. What makes it difficult is the fact that there are many words and they are spaced out in the actual writing --- so, when the artist goes to make the necklace she has to make them closer together in order to loop the words together so that they can form the necklace, otherwise they would just fall off, KWIM? So, the connecting creates a little problem.

Perhaps if you write her, she seemed super nice when I dealt with her, just explain that you weren't thrilled with the clarity of the words...

That since she has to connect the words it makes it harder to read -- so maybe to remedy that, remake it with a larger font than what was used. She made it the same size as your mom's writing. But when moving them closer together to attach that is what makes it hard to read --- so, I'm thinking, and I'm not a pro, but I'm THINKING if she just took the writing and enlarged it a bit -- if that's possible -- that will help make it a lot easier to read.

I would write her and suggest that as a problem solver OTHERWISE, worst case scenario, can you choose another saying or maybe your name or just the "Love Mom" or something else that would loop together easier and still be legible? That's just the worst case scenario but try the other suggestion first! Chat Icon GL!
