21 Day Fix, P90X or something else?
For the past year, almost all of my exercising has been running. I've run 4 half marathons and trained 3 separate times for them because I tend to get lazy and unmotivated after the race. I'm looking to scale back on running, especially long distances, and focus more on strengthening/toning. I like the idea of a 30ish minute workout especially with being a FTWM.
The only workout video I own is the 30 Day Shred. I like it although I've never used it more than a few times per week. The infomercials like 21 Day Fix and P90X always intrigue me, but I'm also a little skeptical. I would love to lose 10-20 lbs. I know diet and exercise go together. I really hate the idea of counting calories. I've had success in the past with South Beach, but am willing to try something different.
What do you recommend? What have you had the most success with for both exercise and diet?

The 21 day fix is diet and exercise but P90X is really just exercise
I think first you need to decide on an eating plan since your goal is to lose. Losing is 90% diet. The exercise just helps it along.
I would look into WW South Beach Atkins And all the various meal replacements out there.
They all work it is really about what fits into your lifestyle the best. If it doesn't fit for your lifestyle it won't work.

I just started the 21 day fix and I feel like I am finally breaking past my weight loss Plateau. You can do 1-2 rounds of the 21 day fix and loss that 10 - 20 lbs. Its not so much calorie counting its more portioning. It does taking a lot of planing though.

How much of a pain is the planning? Is it something where you spend a few hours on Sunday getting ready for the week? How do you handle eating out or at someone else's house?
Did you buy the shakes? It seems so expensive for what it is especially when most people seem to add other ingredients to it.

The shakes are expensive but I did buy them. I really don't find the planing to be crazy. I usually have a shake for breakfast and I keep frozen fruit in the freezer to add to it. snakes are usually fruit, nuts celery and peanut butter, stuff like that. I usually take lunch to work everyday any way, so I make a little extra for dinner to bring for lunch. I keep a few things in the freezer just in case, Frozen already cooked shrimp, just defrost them in the morning and they are ready to go, veggie steam bags and trader joe's frozen brown rice. So if i need to i microwave those those in the morning and pack them. planing dinner is pretty much the same as planning dinner regularly for the week. Going out I try to pick plain things like broiled fish with steamed veggies.
