NYC Resumes
Ive been applying to every elementary school in queens. Im certified art k-12 so ive have a pretty hard time landing sometime. I have been faxing my resume to every school. Is it ok to fax cover letters and resumes over? if the principal post an email i email to them. I just dont even know how to pick out Schools i like. I have no idea even if these schools are looking for art teachers. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

Have you had anyone look at your resume to see if anything needs to be tweaked? Have you considered expanding your search to middle and high schools? I am a little surprised that you haven't gotten a single call...

I just redid my cover letter and resume. I think they are good. I just started applying last week. I got a few call backs. One saying the scho doesn't have funding for an art teacher if I would want to sub. Another school for an interview but the call went to voicemail and when I called back they had all the spots filled. The third was for an interview in the Bronx(found that job on the doe website). I'm really lookin for something in queens not a crazy commute. I would do middle or high school but I just thought I start with elementary first.
