painting costs

I have never hired a painter before. We have always done it ourselves. For our new home, we want it to look good, and since we are AWFUL painters, we are hiring someone.
I know it depends on house size, spackle, etc. But would anyone be comfortable sharing what they paid for a professional painter, and the number of rooms or square footage they had done for the price.

About 1600 square feet, it was 3 bedrooms, foyer, hallway, living room, kitchen, dining room and family room, I believe it was about $5200. Maybe a little less because I didn't end up doing the bathrooms because we planned to gut them. This was last year, and I honestly was shocked how much it costed, since we normally painted ourselves too. But we had gotten 3 quotes and they were all basically the same, and they each said that we hardly had any prep work, the previous owners did a great job before we moved in, so if it's a lot of spackle etc it might be more.

I paid around 400 per room but heard quotes as high as 600-800! This includes Benjamin Moore paint

I was surprised too however when we thought about paint at 25/30 bucks a gallon plus all the other supplies we didn't own, drop cloths, tape, brushes, rollers, etc the cost would have really added up. Not to mention time. They did in 3 days what would have taken us a month using up our precious weekend time. Best decision to hire someone. Pm me if you want a referral in nassau/western suffolk

painting costs

i've heard $200 + paint for a small room but not including mouldings, doors, etc.

but mostly 3-400 per (small bedroom)
