Pic in in my album of the drawing, but it's basically a 4' walkway, 10x10 patio, and 10' circular patio. Quote was $2500 cash.

Thoughts?

Price seems good.
Prices I've seen have been around 11-13 psf, that is right in the middle. On top of that, your job isn't a big rectangle which would be easier, yuo have the walkway and round patio. I think I'd be happy with the quote assuming you were happy with the company, had recommendations etc. and happy with the material.

I got quotes in the 3000-4000 range for that same sketch, and this guy was much lower. Will be nicolock pavers which is good, and I had the option to pick any paver/color from nicolock I wanted for that same price which was nice. However, he is a recommendation from my landscaper and this is just a guy who does this work on the side. He seems very confident and said its an easy job, so maybe I should just go with it. From what I am reading online, installing pavers isn't really that hard..

Re: What do you think of this quote?

What materials are going underneath the pavers. Is he just putting down sand or any barriers? Are they included in the job? We had pavers at our old house and weeds would grow through them. My neighbor has a paver driveway and she gets weeds in it all of the time.

Ok put in context, it might be too cheap. I was expecting based upon the sketch for it to be higher than the normal range based on a per square foot basis. However it is in the range. if you got multiple quotes, you know now what it costs to get it done.....

guy doing it on the side can be a minus or not. he could be fine, he probably isn't insured. does he know what he's doing on this if it was just a side job? have you seen other jobs he's done/or pics?

Re: What do you think of this quote?

While he may be perfectly fine, I would go with the licensed and insured guy. DH has had to go in and clean up plenty of handy-man specials from people who don't know what they are doing.

I think we are going to go with this guy- after doing more research, this isn't really a job that you need a licensed guy for at all. If this was our forever home, I think would care more too lol

will do- I'm excited. We plan to get a firpit from lowe's to put in the circular area, and will get a few benches to go around it. Then, we will put a patio set in the square area, and we will move the grill over there too. Right now, we have a circular table with 4 chairs IN OUR DRIVEWAY lol it sucks

Re: What do you think of this quote?

I told you guys I would post pics of the job! Halfway done today, and so far so good :)

We did a 10 ft circle and a 10x12 patio with the walkways. I picked Nicolock Blue Ridge collection and the color I chose was Pennsylvania Blue.

Will post more pics tomorrow when it's all done!
