Dress size

I am a bridesmaid in January and we have to order our dresses by Friday. I am thinking of ordering 1 size bigger then what I actually am since we are trying. Would one size be enough if I wind up being 4/5 months? Obviously I also could not be so I'm so confused on what to do. Bad idea? Good idea? Anyone have any suggestions.

This is just from personal experience - I feel that the bridesmaid dress sizing is always on the big side (I always ordered a size down and had to sign a waiver) so I would just go with the size they measure u for... But that's just me!

Re: Dress size

I agree that bridesmaid dresses usually run on the large side, even after being measured. Probably a scam so you have to have it altered by them! Chat Icon I'd get the regular sizing and go from there. I guess it would also depend on the style of the dress... is it very form fitting?

I wouldn't do anything bigger than what they recommend. Everyone is also going to carry differently. Just order the size that they tell you to order based on your size now, don't worry about what if. If you are 4/5 months pregnant, MOST women aren't really showing yet, and if they are they are just slightly rounder in the belly, and the size they order for you (because they always order big) I'm sure would be fine.

It is pretty form fitting on top. I got sized at the place but we are ordering from somewhere else in the city cause it's 40 dollars cheaper. I am between 2 sizes (chest and waist one number and hips one size up) the place gave me the larger size.

I saw go with the bigger size, it can always been taken in. If you wanted to even go up a size, you can still get it taken in.

I'd definitely go for the larger size- pregnancy on the horizon or not, but I wouldn't go any larger than that. You should be good!

This. They can only take a dress in so much before it totally ruins it. One to two sizes is about it, and if you need to get bigger already for one part of your body, and taken in elsewhere, I wouldn't go any bigger.
