Tween/Teen acne... Help!
We are using all 3 steps of Pro Active, without much success.
Can I take DD for a facial or would a Dermatologist be better? She's 11.

DDs acne became pretty bad by 11.5. The dermatologist put her in Epiduo topical and changed her OTC face wash and she had since improved a lot. It take a couple of months to kick in though. He said it's better than Proactive.

instead of Proactive we tried the Nutragena (sp) 3 step program (you get can at any drug store or Wal-Mart. It has worked really well for us. I wanted to try to avoid prescriptions if we could. So far so good

I would go to the dermo. I think they know best and can stear you in the right direction. I know my sister had terrible acne as a teen, and as soon as my parents took her to the dermo she cleared up following his recomendations.
