Cape Dormer....pls recommend contractor

Hi, we are purchasing a cape and looking to do a full dormer upstairs. Right now the house has 2 small bedrooms and a full bath. We are looking to add at least 3 full size bedrooms and closets, maybe even make the bathroom bigger. We are also looking into moving the staircase. Could anyone recommend a contractor in Nassau county. We are going to call a few to get estimates but getting personal expierence/insight is always helpful. TIA!!!

I've been asking for recommendations from people who have used architects/contractors too. I was suggested to call Better Build from another contractor.

In our current neighborhood many of our neighbors have used George Parsons. They are satisfied with the work but a major complaint is that Parsons excluded so many critical things from the initial quote that should have been in there originally. They were expecting the end result would be a bit more then quoted but not as much. Feedback has also been that unless you stay on top of them they work very slow and let things go. We plan on contacting them just to get a quote but keeping this feedback in mind.

I could have written this post myself! We have a cape with 2 beds and 1 bath with an unfinished attic upstairs right now- Looking to do the same as you, but not for another year or two. Keep us posted on who you use!
