Re: New crockpot recipe help

I make BBQ chicken in the crock pot and it comes out amazing.

Super easy too.

Sweet Baby Ray's Crockpot Chicken

It's spicy so I use less of the red pepper flakes

Chicken and dumplings is good. Throw in some chicken breasts, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, salt, pepper, carrots, peas, celery, cook on low for about 6 hours, add raw biscuit dough about 40 minutes before done. My kids actually love this!

Chicken with taco seasoning and then shred it for chicken tacos

Chicken Chili is good too

Re: New crockpot recipe help

historically, i would use my crockpot ONLY for beans. i've recently started to explore the real world of crock pot cooking.

so far, we like:

* salsa chicken. throw in as many chicken breasts as will fit in your crockpot. cover with any canned/bottled salsa you like. cook low for about 6-8 hours. can be shredded and used for just about anything.

* pulled pork. (i know you said no pork, but this can be done with any meat... i've tried it with beef and turkey). one pork shoulder, one pack onion soup mix, 20 oz A&W rootbeer, bottle of your favorite bbq sauce. cook low for 8 hours. shred and enjoy with cole slaw and pickles on hearty bread. SO said this is the best pulled pork he has ever had.

this week i'm going to try my first chili recipe. i'll let you know how it goes.

New crockpot recipe help

I made a chicken chili that's super easy:

1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
2 bell peppers, chopped
1 large can plain tomato sauce
2 cans tomatoes with green chiles
1 bag frozen corn
1-2 packs chili seasoning

dump everything in, 5-6 hours on low

Turkey breast:

1 large boneless turkey breast, skin removed
1 stick cold butter (or half depending on how healthy you want to be)
garlic powder
rosemary
thyme
chicken stock

Place turkey in slow cooker. Cover halfway with the stock. Slice the butter and place on top of the turkey. Cover the turkey with garlic powder and herbs. Set to low for 4-5 hours depending on the size of the turkey.
