? for those who did IVF
I just thought of something.
I'm doing IVF at Cornell next month. I understand they look at the embryos on Day 3 and decide if they should transfer on Day 3 or wait until Day 5.
When do I find out my transfer date? If Day 3 falls on a work day, do I go into work that morning and then play it by ear? Or do I take the day off?
What did everyone here do?

i didn't go to Cornell but they should call you the next day with the fert report... at the very least you can ask then when they will let you know. I would imagine the day before.

If transfer is in the afternoon you could definitely work in the AM but ask. This is something done all the time so it's an easy question to answer.

I did two cycles at Cornell..transfers generally start at 2 and you have to get their a little early to get changed. I usually just took the day to make it easier and next day just to relax. Good luck! I love Cornell!

I didn't use Cornell, but when I did my first IVF, they would decide the day of (CD3) if you would get a transfer. I planned for a week of vacation during when that would fall. Yes, they would call you & you would go in the afternoon.
My most recent cycle, they only did CD 5 transfers. I went to work in the morning & had the transfer in the afternoon.

I just did a cycle at Cornell. They told me that depending on my embryos I would be a 3 or 5dt. They cAlled me on day 3 in the morning and told me I was doing a 5dt. Before hand they did tell me to keep both days open. I believe all transfers are done in afternoon. We had to be there by 1:30 so technically you can take a half day. Keep in mind that all retrievals and transfers are done at the hospital on 70th and York so if you work on LI chances are you'll be taking day off.

Thanks everyone. I work in the city so I may just plan on taking a 1/2 day on day 3 and day 5.
