Some Questions about IVF????? Thanks ladies!
So, I haven't posted in a while. I have been so busy at work and just trying to gear up for the whole IVF procedure.
On May 24th, I had a polyp removed. Everything went and is great these past two weeks.
But I am a little confused about a few things and I haven't gone to the dr yet! Bad, Bad patient!
Okay, so do I go to the DR. on CD2 and then we start injectibles? Or do I have to go on BC pills first? I have read many different things. What has been your experience thus far?
Much Thanks!

Well, first off. Have you discussed IVF with your Dr.? You need to set up an information session, and they discuss the whole procedure. People have different protocols. I did start on BCP for 2 weeks, and then Lupron for 2 weeks, and then started my stim. meds I was also on Bravelle and Menopur when I started stimming. Before all this, I had to go through all kinds of testing, such as blood work for genetic testing. I know not all women had to, but had to have a mammogram, speak to an IVF counselor, have an updated pap smear, and chlymydia test.

yes there is alot of pretesting. I had to have bloodwork and a saline sonogram as well as breast exam. Whether you go on BCP depends on your protocol. I have done one with and one without.
BUt I believe always with IVF some other sort of treatment (lupron or bcp) starts before you start stimming. The cycle takes about 7 weeks.

Re: Some Questions about IVF????? Thanks ladies!
I have briefly spoken about IVF with my DR after the 4 failed IUIs that were required by insurance so that we could move on to IVF. I didn't realize that the entire cycle takes around 7 weeks. I know it sounds silly but we have vacation at the end of July and I was trying to figure the cycle out.
I am going to call the Dr in the morning. As always thanks!
