Book Fair Money Question

DS just started K and the school is having a book fair next week. Do I send him in with cash or a check? Both are accepted by the school. I'm sure he will want a book (or two) but I don't want to send him in with too much money ( he doesn't have a wallet).

Re: Book Fair Money Question

I usually work the book fair, and the kids usually come in with their money in an envelope sealed with their name. Then we put the change back in the envelope and put it in the bag with their books. The teachers usually collect the envelopes in the morning, and give them to the kids at the book fair. This is how it works at my school, yours could be different. For checks, they usually leave the dollar amount blank and we fill it in. Also find out if your school collects tax (ours does, and many forget).

Re: Book Fair Money Question

In Kindergarten I met my DD at school and shopped with her but even if parents couldn't, the moms running the book fair were great about helping them choose books and pay for everything. In first grade I just sent my DD to school with money to shop on her own.

Re: Book Fair Money Question

In our school the kids make a "wish list" of the books they want with the prices. I usually make ds narrow it down and give him money to buy it himself.
