Hunter Boots
Needed a new pair of rain boots and did some research on Hunters. Yes, I am a SAHM so we live kind of on a budget but to pay an average of $150.00 on rubber boots seems crazy. Is it really because of the logo? I do buy some designer items, we own our home in a an expensive LI suburb and actually got a $100.00 pair of Sorel snow boots but do not understand the rain boots. I just wore my 29.00 fun and unique looking Realtree boots in pink ....they are doing the too!

Re: Hunter Boots
if you dont want to spend 150, check out Henry Ferrera! I bought a pair of wedge ones for like $12 on one of those discount sites 2 yrs ago. They are under $50 on average. They run BIG.

Yup! I have these and love them! I have them in black but want to get another pair.
ETS: I live in the city and walk everywhere. And I found these very comfortable. They are pretty think and durable.
I tried Hunters and the sizing wasn't right for me. I didn't like the feel around the ankles also, the 9's were too small and the 10's were too big.

Re: Hunter Boots
For me, they were an investment but I commute into NYC - walk to/from the office from Penn Station, and to/from the train station from my house - The are NOT for the snow b/c your feet will freeze - but in my situation, they are an absolutel necessity. I went through 4 or 5 pairs of the 'cheap' rainboots b/c I didn't want to spend "$150 on a pair of rubber rain boots" .......but it really was worth it in the end for me

Re: Hunter Boots
I feel like with Hunters you really are just paying for the name. It's like a style thing
And reading that blog you posted above- I see the quality isn't all that great either- her;s were breaking down and getting ruined super fast!
I couldn't reconcile $150 on a pair of boots I'd rarely wear. I really don't wear rain boots often- I find them hard to get on and off and harder to drive in.
So it's more like an occasional use things
Hence why the Kamik's were perfect for me

I every time I see people wearing them as a status/style thing - they are freaking RUBBER RAIN BOOTS for God's sake - they are functional - they're not Manolo or Jimmy Choo or Louboutin - there's nothing 'cute' about them !! And yet, you see women who build entire outfits around these stupid boots! I'm like - yeah, stuff my legs in those bad boys and wear a dress/skrit so I'm not stuffing my pants in too and call it a day!

I know. I see it all the time too. It's so strange to me because they are ugly as sin IMO (though I do like the glossy ones a bit better)
It's kind of the same thing as Uggs- SOOOO ugly but functional

thanks ... did not have much time to hit the stores but read online reviews that if you have large calves the Kamiks would be too narrow. I got some funky ones called RealTrees ...paid $29.00 ... If they only last 2-3 years I will get new ones ...

Yeah I don't have particular large calves (average) and i can see that. they fit fine but they are not loose and with pants tucked in i can see them being snug in the calf

Hunter Boots
I have Hunters and I love them. I bought them 5 years ago. They are in absolutely perfect condition. And didn't mind spending the $. I used to commute so they were great for that (which I still do just a bit less now) and I love them on a day like today I had to run errands all morning they were perfect. To each is own but I love mine and when I got them 5 years ago they weren't 150 they were def a bit cheaper BUT even at 150 to have them 5 years later with lots of wear is a great investment in shoes. I spent $20 on shoes I literally have never worn cause I realized too late they hurt my feet now THATS a waste of $. Everyone is different and has different tastes and decide whats a good investment for them =)
