Gel Mani safe?
I may come off as paranoid but is UV gel manicure safe while pregnant? Just curious. I know they say to forgo tanning which makes sense but what about this?

They say to forgo tanning because it raises your body temp too high laying in the tanning beds or the sun.
The UV light they use for a gel manicure doesn't do that.
I don't' recall if I had a gel mani or not while pregnant- but I totally would have should the need have arisen

My Doctor told me they were 100% safe so I've been getting them every 2 weeks

I got them with both of my pregnancies. Get them while you still can! With 2 kids at home now, it's rare I have time to get to the nail salon!

Gel Mani safe?
I get shellac every 2 weeks. I never even asked my OB, but my nail girl (who has 2 little kids) said it's fine.
Not sure about the gel, but I've read that shellac doesn't have any more chemicals than regular nail polish. Either way, you're not drinking the stuff so I wouldn't worry!

I remember when I got one with dd, they cut the tips off of rubber gloves and had me wear the gloves when under the uv machine. I have no clue if this actually did anything in terms of protection, or if I had anything to even worry about in the first place, but I just went with the flow! Kind of makes me laugh now to think about it!
