Flu Shot, Yes or No?
I'm 15w3d, I have my 16w appointment later this week and I know it'll be discussed so wondering all your views on getting the Flu shot.
ETA: I got the shot at my appointment. Benefits just out way any risk!

For me, I don't get it if I'm not pregnant, but I did get it 2 times when 2 of my kids were born in flu season (December) and didn't get it when my DD was a June baby, I'm on the fence this time for a feb baby.
They told me it gave immunities for 6 months for the baby if I got it while pregnant, which is the only reason I did it.

I keep hearing it doesn't affect the baby so to hear it helps the baby is interesting.

In the third trimester. That's the reasoning why you should get the pertussis vaccine now after 32 weeks instead of after delivering.
I got it during both pregnancies. Didn't want to have the flu while being pregnant

Declined it when pregnant with DD1. While in the hospital being induced, DH who had gotten the flu shot caught the flu. DD and I were fine. Needless to say, I declined it while pregnant with DD2.

I think I'll get it. I never got one until I saw a friend come down with a horrible case of the flu 2 years ago and now I've been scared into getting it every year.

Due to my history, I am very wary about getting any kind of injection while pregnant, especially these ones that haven't had proper research on pregnancy specifically. This is the reason I declined it with #1 and will also decline with #2.

It's actually very dangerous for your baby if you get the flu while pregnant. I got the flu shot with both of my babies.

I was advised by my OB to get the flu shot, though without the preservatives. I will be getting it. I have never gotten it while not pregnant and I did have the flu in spring 2014. It was pretty miserable, but I lived. I wouldn't want to go through that while pregnant though and risk anything.

I never got it when pregnant because my OB never mentioned it to me.
I never have gotten the flu shot in my life.
If he would have recommended it or pushed it I might have done it...but he didn't

I will definitely get it. I get the shot every year and have stayed flu-free and haven't had any negative reactions from it.

I hemmed and hawed about this decision because this is my first pregnancy and I have never had the flu shot before.
I decided yesterday to get it done and over with. I got the thermisol free one. I am hoping it wasn't a mistake. It didn't hurt at the time but my arm is so sore today and I have had a killer headache since last night.

I got it third tri from my OB. I was delivering in Jan plus I had a then 8 year old so I didn't want to take the chances.
