Posted by lorich Totally going off on a tangent here...but I rearranged my entire schedule with his swim, etc to accommodate the age group practice time...and then the coach arranges it to what he wants. How is that fair? So now I"m stuck changing teams or practicing with another team & just have games with our scheduled team. (That felt good...)
Sorry -that stinks - and it's not fair!!
Thank you for understanding. It means a lot!
I'm being told that in order to be in sports I need to be more flexible, car pool or find a babysitter.
The last minute changes seem to be common and I heard that sometimes it's an issue with other coaches who make decisions last minute and then then league has to decide which team gets to use the field. Also, some coaches are just better and more organized than others.
Yeah, for my case it's that latter.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for baseball season. Parent run sports can be hit or miss. Truth is, it's not just about working. If you have other kids, their schedules have to be taken into account also. We have one babysitter who has driven my son places but I don't want him to be carted around by someone else. I can be flexible anyway but the last minute changes are an issue and so is the fact that they don't keep the same days every week. My son has other activities.

Re: FTWM & Sports
my kids are in soccer right now and my oldest had a 5:30 practice start on fridays that they got switched to 5pm a few weeks in
we work until 5:30 most of the time, so as it was we were leaving early but now its too much. he gets there some weeks, some weeks he doesn't...as it is for most of the kids on the team its frustrates the hell out of me!
and for what it's worth....6pm is not that big of a difference in time! if it's more accomodating for the families, i don't see why it's so difficult to do. Ok, rant over
