First IVF Cycle Unsuccessful
So we got the call today that our first IVF cycle did not work. I feel really sad. We are going to move forward and do a FET this cycle.
Any thoughts on a natural cycle FET vs a medicated FET? Pros? Cons?
We need to make an appointment to speak with the Dr next week. After a failed cycle, is there ever any insight or is just "Sorry it didnt work"?

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. I know how frustrating it is as my first IVF cycle was unsuccessful as well. I was so discouraged especially since I needed the methotrexate shot afterwards and had to wait 3 months to try again. It seemed like forever to me. On the upside, my new doctor tweaked my first protocol and I tried some different things like acupuncture - my 2nd IVF was successful and I now have DS. I have no experience with a FET since I didn't do one so can't advise there. Hang in there!

So sorry 
My first IVF fresh cycle didn't work either and with slight tweaking of my protocol my second fresh cycle worked. I just did my first FET and we chose to do it with a medicated cycle. It was just the easier choice for us...there is less monitoring when your cycle is controlled with the meds.

Im sorry. I've been there and it sucks. I did have a consult with my dr. afterwards. RMA does a "peer review" where all the dr's in the practice (whom I've probably seen at one point or another) review my file and the steps taken.
my dr. was very informative and explained how my #s on paper were very pretty, but when they went to do the typical protocol I did not respond as well as they thought i would have based on those tests. and my eggs showed that when they retrieved them.
So there is a new protocol in place for next round. and we will also do ICSI next time b/c I had poor fertilization.
So definitely go to your consult. they should go over everything with you and lay out some steps and modifications for a new plan, should you choose to go forth.
