oof Like really what happened to her? Wheres her family? Imagine that was your daughter would you just leave her out there like this? She used to be so pretty and she looks like a wack job. She is mentally ill and needs help. I could never leave my child, my niece, my cousin or even a friend or a friends child out there wrecking themselves like this.

From what I've read her parents have tried to intervene and had taken some semblance of control after one of her breakdowns but there's only so much they can do. She's an adult, sick or not. It must be heartbreaking for them.
ETA: They had conservatorship over her awhile but they felt they could not handle her and transferred her care to a mental health professional in late 2014.

In the last pic it looks like she just sat down at a random stranger's table like she knows them and started yaking it up and havings a whole conversation with herself and they are scared for their lives.

This. As someone who has family who battle bipolar disorder, alcoholism and depression, there is only so much family can do. At a certain point it is NECESSARY for the family to step back and let what is going to happen to happen. It is extremely hard to do, but there comes a point where you need to care for yourself and there is nothing else you can do for the person but wait for them to decide they want to be better. You say what you say now, but until you have been through it you really have NO IDEA what it is like.

I feel so bad for her and her family. In the beginning I thought she was acting out like Miley Cyrus does to "be different" or whatever. But now years later I feel for her poor thing.

Honestly, that's what I saw. I hate her hair, but I think bleached like that with the roots is tacky, but others (who aren't mentally ill) like that look... She doesn't look like she's doing anything too wacky here.

I find the pairing of athletic gear and a cigarette to be odd but she doesn't look THAT bad to me. Tacky hair but otherwise could be a lot worse. She's not wearing a wig that looks like she found it in a dumpster at least.

Exactly! MY sister is mentally ill and sadly you cannot force someone into treatment. You literally cannot. Unless she walks up to dr and says she is going to kill herself or someone else. Even if she says it to me.. it doesn't matter. As long as she walks up to the dr and denies it or says she doesn't mean it, she is good to go. And mentally ill doesn't mean dumb. She knows what to say to keep herself out of the hospital. The mental health system is so broken. If the person doesn't want help, they don't get it. And mental illness is full of highs and lows. They don't want them to stop. As a family member you look like a heartless ***** for stepping back. However, after years and years of it... or a lifetime of it.. you need to. You can't destroy yourself also. You just can't. And there is anger. You logically know the person is ill. However, actions and words hurt and there are some things you can't look past. Walk a mile in someones shoes. Mental illness is no joke. It's one of the worst things I can imagine putting on a family.
