Hospital Bag

Hello,

What did you/are you packing? I am going to start my bag next week at 36 weeks.

I am delivering at LIJ NHP, does every hospital require you to pack different things? I do not see a list on their website.

Thanks

Where did you girls get your grandma panties? I plan on wearing the mesh ones there, but for when I get home. I forgot everything from last time I gave birth lol

I'm adding flip flops to this list! Private rooms are $525 a night at NYU Langone, so needless to say, I'll be in a shared room, with a shared shower.

The nurses recommended bringing your own pillow, too, since the hospital ones stink.

I brought 2 pairs of lounge/yoga pants, 2 comfy tees, pair of PJs, granny panties, pads, slippers, coming home outfit for baby, toiletries, hair ties, makeup, and phone charger, and boppie. I kept it real simple.

This is a pretty good list.

You don't need pads, though. You'll be stealing those from the hospital!

Omg yes! Totally forgot. Flip flops for the shower for sure.

Edit. I was in a private room with my own shower and I still wore flip flops. I don't even want to think of what hits those shower floors. Grosssss

Chapstick and depends silhouettes instead of undies.

Didn't have my twins yet but I did an 8 day stay in January - one thing I'm glad I had was an extra long phone charger, you don't know where the outlet is going to be in relation to your bed/it made it easier for DH to charge his phone too.

Just wanted to say, make sure your hospital definitely has the mesh panties or bring backup. I planned on using them then wound up with no underwear after delivery because my hospital apparently didn't carry them. Good times!

I bought Hanes cheapie granny panties in a larger size than I'd normally wear.

Used Depends silhouettes as well. They are a pad and underwear in one and just throw them out after each use.

Also, consider the shoes you plan to wear to go home. I couldn't get the shoes I wore to the hospital on bc my feet were so swollen!
