What to wear to baby shower this weekend?
I'm attending a baby shower this weekend. The venue is very nice - its a popular (expensive) wedding venue in my area. I'm not particularly close with the woman. She's my sister in law's sister in law  I'm friendly with her, but not close by any means. I haven't been to a shower as just a guest in a long time...the last half dozen showers I have been at I've either been a bridesmaid or an immediate family member hosting (I feel like those 2 categories generally dress up more).
What would be appropriate to wear? Should I go with dress pants and a nice top, or a dress?

I'd wear a dress based on the venue.
Though the last shower I went to, which was at a restaurant, not a catering hall, I wore leggings, a nice top, and dressy boots. So if you feel more comfortable in dress pants, you can totally get away with it.

Same. I'd wear a pretty dress, not a "work" dress

Same here. A nice sweater dress would be perfect.
