Mammograms and IVF
Prior to your IVF cycle; did you have to repeat a Mammogram? Last one was 2013 prior to my first IVF and now they want it repeated before my 2nd. I will do it just nervous I guess.
Is it weird to ask Zwanger for "extra protection"? Yeah probably but I'm still very tempted to ask. Would they even have anything to give me?
If just a sonogram was acceptable; I'd be happy.
Just wondering what everyone else did if you had multiple cycles.

extra protection? do you mean an apron, because I always ask for extra protection.
Yes, you have to have one every year, I was forced to have one this past August in order for me to continue.

Yes. An apron or anything they have. I didn't ask last time and I sure hope they can provide me with something.
I would hope anything is better than nothing.

What are you most worried about? The only protection I ask for is a thyroid cover, just b/c it's so close to my neck area, etc. I don't think they can provide anything else. I guess you are thinking uterus/ovaries area? I really believe the radiation does not reach there…but don't blame you for being a bit concerned. Many clinics require a new mammo, once a year.

Yes; it's the radiation that is my main concern. I'm probably overreacting or it wouldn't be mandatory at so many clinics prior to IVF though. .
THANKS for easing my mind a bit !

Listen, I dont care if the radiation is not expected to reach my ovaries or uterus, what about all the parts between. I always asked for extra protection. When they say oh you dont need it, ok, thank you, I still want it. lol.
