Working out after the flu
How long did you wait? My fever broke today and I'm not sure when I'll even have the desire to workout but should I wait a certain amount of days to let my body "recoup"
I can't afford to be sick like this again!!!

Working out after the flu
Give it a little time, maybe a couple of days to eat better and let your body recoup a bit. Last time I had the flu I was surprised how long it took to really recover. So my advice is to get back into the habit of working out but listen to your body. Make sure you are still getting enough rest, etc.

Working out after the flu
I think I waited a week from day 1 of when I started feeling sick. My fever broke the first day but I still felt very weak and tired for a few days after that. And I wanted my immune system to get back to normal before exposing myself to more germs at the gym.

Working out after the flu
I was super weak and fatigued for almost a month after having Type A flu. Just walking around the mall for a 20 mins had me fatigued. It was horrible.
I would wait at least another week to let your body recover

Working out after the flu
I'd probably wait another week. I had the flu a couple of months ago and it took me a good week maybe week and a half after my fever broke to get my strength back. Putting the kids in their car seats was exhausting for me. My first two days back to the gym was still rough.

Re: Working out after the flu
I had the flu recently. It was awful. Even though my fever broke I still did not feel like myself for another 1-2 weeks. I had no energy and still felt nauseous for a while! Don't push yourself too soon or it will just prolong your recovery.
ETA: I completely understand what you mean about not being able to afford to get sick like that again. The flu is no joke! I honestly feel traumatized by it. I slipped into a brief depression afterward because it took SO LONG to feel like myself again. Just be patient and ease back into things slowly.

Working out after the flu
There is no way. I am back at work for the 4th day after I finished tamiflu. I am still so exhausted I can barely function. I can't even think about working out. I'm prob gonna give myself at least another 10 days.

I would wait for a few days especially if you work out at a gym.
