Uterine Biopsy - Inconclusive result??
Hi everyone! I'm new here and was referred by a friend. She said you are all a great resource for information and support.
I have a long story, but I'll try to make it brief. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over 2 1/2 years. Over the last year and a half we have done 4 IUI cycles (first 3 were bfn, 4th was a chemical). Then we moved onto IVF. Our full medicated cycle I was unable to transfer because of high progesterone levels before retrieval, but did get 4 embryos to make it to freeze on day 5. Our first FET we transferred 1 blast which was a bfn. Our second FET we transferred 1 blast again and got a bfp! Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks. Our third FET we transferred our final 2 blasts and got another bfp...with twins! But again, I had a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks and lost both. Ugh.
Now I'm starting up a full IVF cycle again. I have done all RPL testing and I came back high for Antinuclear antibodies. This week I will also be going in for a uterine biopsy. I'm a little nervous about it so I'm looking for someone with any knowledge about it. I just want to know what I can expect at this point. Thank you in advance!

Re: Uterine Biopsy
Hi! So sorry your going through this. I had one done because I was bleeding the day before my egg retrieval. My RE was not comfortable doing a fresh transfer after 5 days so we froze our 7 embryos. She wanted to test for inflammatory disease because it was so odd that I was bleeding. I Had to wait to get AF then on CD 8 I went in for the biopsy. An hour before I popped 4 motrins (Just advise with your Dr mine said it was ok to do) They basically put that annoying spectrum inside I had to push down on my stomach and the dr did what she had to do and I didn't feel a things. They basically scrap a piece of your lining. It all came back normal.
I did the horrible thing of googling and of course you start to panic. Trust me its not that bad the whole procedure was 3 minutes.
To add I think that it how I naturally got pregnant, when googling I read it helps with implantation since its like a new lining.
Best of Luck

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! You definitely put me at ease. My doctor said it would be a "little uncomfortable" and of course googling it makes it worse haha. A nurse in the office did say I can take 4 Motrin one hour prior to the biopsy so I'll do that and hope for the best. Thanks again for the advice! Congrats on your natural pregnancy! It's amazing how some go through this whole process and then end up conceiving on their own. Gives me some hope!

Re: Uterine Biopsy
I just had one about a month ago. I have to say it was NOTHING. I was all worked up and the speculum hurt more than the biopsy. I am being 100% honest with you and I hope you have the same experience. Dr used a pipette to just lightly suction some lining out.

Re: Uterine Biopsy
Thank you!! I feel so relieved after hearing that. I'll be going in tomorrow morning and taking a few Motrin beforehand. I definitely feel a lot better going into it now

Re: Uterine Biopsy
I'm crashing, sorry. But I had a uterine biopsy several years ago. It was over quickly, but mine was rather painful. Like a sharp, deep pinch. I saw stars. I was ok after laying down for 20 minutes. I hope yours is painless but definitely take Advil beforehand in case.

Re: Uterine Biopsy
So I just got my results...they came back 'inconclusive' and the nurse told me they couldn't rule out endometritis, but couldn't confirm it either. I asked her if she has ever seen this result and she said "to be honest, no." Has anyone ever had this before?? They're putting me on antibiotics for 5 days now and repeating the biopsy next week. I'm just so afraid if it came back inconclusive once, it will be the same again. Any advice or experience with this is greatly appreciated! I'm beyond frustrated

Im sorry. I have no idea what that means. All you can do now is do what they are suggesting.

I had one done a few years ago after a failed FET and it came back positive for endometritis. I did a 2 wk course of antibiotics at that time. I had it redone and it came back ok. But my doctor at that time said he would put me on antibiotics again as prophylaxis if I ever did a transfer again. Hopefully your results with the next one come back ok!!!
