best way to find an apartment for rent in NYC (Queens)
I have a friend that is divorcing. She is looking for a small apartment in a relatively safe area (it will be just her, as they have no kids or pets). What sites are best for finding apartments in Queens? Is Craigslist best? Or are there other sites listing apartments?

We used Craigslist when we moved to Queens, but we had to weed through tons of garbage.

My friend found hers on Facebook. Looked up the area she wanted to live in and posted and got responses. One led to a lead which got her the apt she is in now.

When i lived in Queens, we found our apartment through a broker. We had a pet so it was a bit tough. Also, go directly through the management companies.
