Park Avenue school merrick?

I'm wondering about pick up/ drop off - where it is and how it might affect nearby houses. Thanks!

Park Ave in Merrick is part of the N. Bellmore SD. We get busing for grades K through 3 if you live more than a half a mile away and for grades 4 through 6 if you are a mile away or further.

School starts at 8:30, ends at 3. Then there's aftercare pick up later (from the back lot).

I'm zoned for a different school, but a lot of the N. Bellmore schools have drop off in the front (which at Park, would be at the Park Ave entrance) and buses drop in the back.

Park is a fairly small school, in terms of students, so it's probably not crazy.

One thing to think of (if you are considering a house surrounding that school) is -- like all of the N. Bellmore schools -- N. Bellmore/N. Merrick Little League plays baseball games there and has practices there. Weekday games and practices are at 6 pm and there are Saturday games at 9, 11, or 1. There's spring, summer, and fall baseball. So some people park on the side streets bordering the fields at Park during those games/practices.

I'm a local agent and I live in N. Bellmore, my son goes to another N. Bellmore school. Let me know if I can help!

Thanks Christine! I'm not even sure what people find bothersome about drop offs, maybe cars line up blocking the driveway? Or extra traffic on the street? Unfortunately school is out now, so I wouldn't be able to see what a usual day is like.

I work at a school (not that one) and I'll say people probably hate the additional traffic. My school starts at 7:49. If you get there before 7:30, it is smooth sailing. If you get there after 7:30, it can take you 15 minutes to go maybe .3 miles. There's also the fact that teenagers might hang out there at night. This happens to a park near my sister's house.

My son goes to Park Ave aND the days I'm off during the week I drive him in and pick him up. It's really not bad since it is a small school and even for pickup no one blocks driveways or double parks. Fm me if you have any questions

I don't go to that school but drop my daughter at daycare on a nearby street and there is usually a line of cars waiting to turn in the driveway to drop the children off.
