Hair dryer burning out
I never had this happen before but I think it did now. I have an Elchim 3900 I've been using since December 2014. I have Keratin so I probably use my blow dryer 3-4 times a week for 10 minutes each time. I have long and thick hair (which is why I loved that hair was completely dry in 10 minutes).
When I was using it last night, it had a little burnt smell. It wasn't smoking or anything and I didn't see any hair caught in it. Is it possible it burnt out?
Should I get a new hairdryer? That one was super expensive. I want a new, good hairdryer. Have heard good things about Babyliss and Rusk. Any recommendations?

I hate it when you suddenly get that burnt smell - not sure if it means the blow dryer is done, but to me that means it's time for a new one.
I've had the Rusk for about 2 1/2 years and love it. It's still going strong (and I hope it stays that way!)

Elchim (in my opinion) really are the best! Hopefully that's a fluke your's is breaking in such a short amount of time. Can you contact the company? I wonder if there's a warranty.

Re: Hair dryer burning out
I'm really surprised. My Elchim has been going strong for over 10 years. Before that I had mostly Conair hair dryers and some would last less than a year. I had very long hair for most of my life and I think maybe the vent would take in some hair. They just weren't designed well.

Ok. That must have been a fluke. I used it again last night and no problem. There was no burning smell. Hope that was a one time thing and doesn't happen again.
