unwrapping videos

I thought I escaped the YouTube unwrapping videos, but my 6yo recently discovered HobbyKidsTV and he's obsessed with watching it (much to my dismay since it seems like constant advertisement for more stuff).

We've been playing Pokemon Go and I decided to buy him a pack of 144 Pokemon toys (similar to the ones below).

Instead of just handing over the box, I thought it would be fun to give them to him in a small amount over time and in fun ways. Any fun ideas? I thought about putting them in plastic Easter eggs and hiding them, but I don't know if I want to do it for all 144. I think they're rather small (bigger than a quarter but not too much bigger).

My son (4) loves unwrapping videos too. This time of year, I would freeze a few in big ice cubes and let him melt them to get to them. You can even freeze them in balloons with water and make it a little more challenging.

My son recently got into Shopkins and had some lined up on a table. I snuck a few into the line up and he saw them immediately! He begged and I caved on giving him all that were in a 24-pack bag, but I had to hide them all over the house first.

He really wants more but he has no idea that I have 5 more bags of 24 characters so I told him he can buy more off Amazon for $6/bag. :D Maybe around his bday in October I'll give him more if he hasn't saved up enough money for more.

Re: unwrapping videos

HA! If it were me... I would make my kid earn them. But sporadically. When I catch him doing something nice or when he is really trying hard. However, my kid has AHDS so I feel like I am always looking for motivators or incentives.

ETA:
In fact I have to create a new prize box for school. I am totally getting this set for him! Thanks!

unwrapping videos

We have that set! My Pokemon obsessed DS loves them. We gave him all at once on his birthday earlier this year. I just laid them all out on the kitchen table for when he woke up.

Quick advice, though...we found the plastic/rubber smell that the toys gave off to be a little overwhelming. Give yourself a day to wash them and let them air out. I dumped them in a sink of warm soapy water and let them sit out overnight before giving them

ETA-they are small, quarter sized is a good estimate

I would probably try to make it like the game. Just hide a few around your yard for him to find each day. It will give him something to look forward to each day and get him outside exploring and running around searching for them as he slowly builds his collection.

Re: unwrapping videos

A bit off topic, but these unwrapping videos doesn't just have kids hooked. I recently came across a video on facebook where there was a woman slowly unwrapping a box with Christian Louboutins inside. Bow, tissue paper, dust bag.... Crazy! 8 minute video.

OMG I'd have NO patience for that. None!
When I am watching a youtube video- like a tutorial on how to do something or a make up review, whatever, I tend to drag the bar ahead because i can't stand all the talk and lead up.
I have ZERO patience.
