starting first IVF cycle
I am starting my first IVF cycle once my period shows which would be around 8-5.
I have a preplanned trip to Great Adventure on 8-15. Can I still go?

Re: starting first IVF cycle
Eeeeh. It'll be up to you. You likely will still be stimming then, not ready for retrieval, but...
When I did IVF, my RE told me to treat my body as if I was pg already. Would it be harmful to your body? Maybe not. Will you be uncomfortable after 10 days of stimming? Quite likely. Also, you'll likely need to be in for a monitoring appt that day, and be taking shots at specific times of the day, so being away from home for an entire day is not idea.
If you do decide to go, you should probably only go on the less strenuous rides, though. The RE will definitely not want you on the monster coasters.

I think you can definitely go, but I'd just steer clear of big roller coasters. I walked several miles a day while stimming.

Re: starting first IVF cycle
I wouldn't.
Even if it's because you just won't know how you will be feeling w the meds.
Plus you won't know where your cycle will be at that point. Could be at the point of daily monitoring, etc.

Re: starting first IVF cycle
Is your doctor planning to put you on BC pills for 2-3 weeks before you start stimming? Or have you already done that part? If you haven't it is likely you will be on BC pills before stimming starts. You should be able to go to great adventure no problem on 8/15 if that's the case.
If you get AF around 8/5 and start stimming shortly thereafter, (I started stims CD 3 both fresh cycles) I would likely hold off. Even if you don't start stims until 8/8 or 8/9 by the time you go on 8/15 your overies are going to be a bit inflamed

Re: starting first IVF cycle
Are you starting BCP on 8/5? Or are you starting stimming on 8/5?
If BCP, then yes, I think you can go since you will just be on BCP then.
If stimming, probably not. Your ER could possibly be on 8/15 if you start stimming on 8/5 or 8/6. Some people respond very quickly. But even if your ER isn't on 8/15 at that point, you will probably have to go to your RE for monitoring in the morning. It may be a bit much to do Great Adventure.

Re: starting first IVF cycle
BCP was never mentioned. but now I have a call into my doctor to confirm. I have been doing rounds of IUI since January and took this month off to get ready for IVF.

Re: starting first IVF cycle
Yeah. I'm glad you called about the BCP. You usually have to take it before starting IVF. Good luck!
