New to 4th grade this year

So far in my school I have done Kindergarten, then 3rd grade, and now I'm moving up with my kids to 4th grade (self contained, special Ed) Needless to say my transition from K to 3rd took a bit of work, but I feel like I adjusted well.

Now, moving up to 4th, I'm getting a little nervous. I feel like there is a big difference between 3rd and 4th being that my kid's scores will be compared to last year and they will have the science test this year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Science test is pretty easy I wouldn't worry as much. In 4th they have a good chance of showing growth on the tests because they were exposed to it last year.

Science test is pretty easy... Don't worry about that. Make sure you start teaching how to respond to short responses straight out the gate and comparing 2 stories for essay purposes as well. I used readworks.org which really helped get my kids ready for the exams.

Math: fractions and angles are HUGE!!!!! Make sure they get the foundations they need for fractions down pact (multiplication/division). Use the fraction butterfly for comparing fractions... Omg my kids loved it!!! Good luck!
