Surely I cannot be the sole Harry Potter fan on this site!

Just saw this movie last night and it was amazing! DH and I agree that it was probably better than the other 8 movies combined. I'm obsessed with the story line, and I cannot wait for the other 4 movies now.

Thoughts?

I saw it last night as well and really loved it. My Husband, who is not a big HP fan through there were a lot of plot holes. He did love the graphics. I will say that I thought the movie was made for the HP fan who is extremely familiar with the HP universe and not for someone who was unfamiliar with the books and movies.

The book is written more like a student guide. It was meant to replicate what the hogwarts students would be reading for class. She is going to release the screenplay for the movie in a book, but JK will not be writing out this series. It'll be 5 movies.

If you liked and enjoyed the previous movies, I do believe you'll feel the same about this one!

I haven't read the book yet but I'm excited to see the movie- probably this weekend for my birthday. Glad to hear it was so good!

ETA: I didn't realize there's going to be 5 movies! Chat Icon

Wondering if it would be ok for a 7 year old HP fan. We have read the first two books with him and are stalled at the third. We let him see the first two movies after we finished the books with him, and are hoping he'll want to get back to finishing the 3rd so we can watch that with him.
We were thinking of seeing Fantastic Beasts since it seems like it's not really related so it wouldn't ruin anything, but since it's PG-13, do you think it would be too intense for a 7 year old?

I took my 7 and 9 yo HP fans. We too have read and watched books one and two. Both of my kids felt it was too scary for them.

Thanks!! Maybe we'll wait on that one.
DH thinks, if we ever get through book #3, we may want to wait a while on #4 since it gets pretty dark starting with The Goblet of Fire.
