Manchester by the Sea

I saw this today and am somewhat disappointed. The story line had so much potential but it was just so flat. The cinematography was amazing though.

Anyone else have some thoughts about this movie?

Wow - sorry to hear that. I've been dying to see it.

I haven't seen. But 2 or 3 or my FB friends have seen it and said it was very good. Just extremely sad.

Maybe I am missing something. Maybe I am over thinking it. There were some endearing parts but I just didn't find it that great.

So I finally got away from my brood and was able to see a movie that I perceived to be a dramatic chick flick. Boy was I wrong! Holy crap this was depressing! Really well done but it disturbed me. I wasn't expecting that story line at all.

I actually LOVED it!! It was somber and sad but I kind of love these types of movies where you're just taking a look into someone's life for a brief period in time. The acting was amazing and it was just so well done. I can't wait to see it again when it comes to DVD!

With all the sexual harassment talk about Casey Affleck, I can't bring myself to support it. I'm going to wait until it's on HBO so they don't get my support.

I saw it last week and feel the exact same way. Kept waiting for the movie to "go somewhere". I had high expectations, so maybe that's part of the reason I was disappointed.

Yes I agree. I thought it was wonderful and haunting.

Exactly how I felt. I already pre-ordered the blu-ray.
