Back to the beginning... UPDATE

So i went to my RE for a sono this morning since today I should be 6w2d and they only a sac with nothing in it... My RE said that the sac had grown but not as much as he would like. I have to go back on Tuesday, he wouldn't do more bloodwork, he just told me to prepare myself for a miscarriage..

Ive been with this practice for 2.5 years and today I felt like this may be the end of this practice for me, they were very cold about everything, I know they can't show emotion to all their patients but he didn't even explain anything to me he just told me that he had 5 other miscarriages this week and that these things "just happen".

So my question for all of you is.. Do any of you have an RE that you absolutely love or would highly recommend.. I just feel its time for a change..

ETA: So it's a Christmas Miracle, we went to the RE this morning and there it was plain as day, a baby with a good strong heartbeat. I was only measuring a day behind so i'm 6 weeks 6 days today with an EDD of 8/6/17. Couldn't be more excited! This last 5 days was excruciating!

Not sure you can go into the city but with dd1 we used dr. Mukherjee at RMA. He was so amazing. Dh joked he was the patch Adams of the IF world. Love him. Brilliant, but 100% understands the human side, not just the science side.

I'm so very sorry Chat Icon . We switched practices and to a new doctor with better bedside manner after our second miscarriage. We are outside NY though. Sending you many prayers and good thoughts. Chat Icon

I personally love Dr Grunfeld from RMA.

I'm not sure of your history or dx, but for repeat miscarriages, I'd recommend Dr Tortoriello.

Both are in the city, though.

Re: Back to the beginning...

im very sorry!

because they cant show emotion, doesnt mean they cant be compassionate.

i used RMA of Philadelphia. They have networks all over as someone above posted they used RMA as well.
My dr had the nicest bedside manner. way nicer than my OB/GYn.

it might be time to find a different practice.Chat Icon

Re: Back to the beginning...

i'm very sorry. I had the same thing happen to me in March. (Blighted ovum) Where the sac was there and kept getting a little larger but nothing was inside. I'm so sorry that you are going through this. It is terrible. Hang in there hun!Chat Icon

I'm so sorry. I am going through a miscarriage too. Its so terrible to have hope and then it get crushed. I was measuring a week behind so RE said it wouldn't make it. Uhh. What practice are you at? What is your diagnosis? I am with SIRM, Dr. T but will have to now change practices because I don't have anymore insurance left and can't afford the prices there. I highly recommend him. Again, so sorry.

Re: Back to the beginning...

My DD took nearly 5 years to the day from going off the pill to having her. It was a long and rough road. Hang in there. I have to say in those moments no one is going to sound like they have enough compassion. I think they need to take the emotion out to deal with that every day. That said, i love Dr. Cohen at North Shore. I am not sure he is the most sensitive person either but he is so confident in everything he does. For me it was more important that I had a top RE and a good surgeon, as I had to have both fibroid removal surgery and a DNC. But when he called me to tell me I was pregnant and the day he released me to the OB, I could hear the happiness in his voice. Of course we'd been working together for over 3 years at that point.

Hang in there.

I saw Dr. Palter at Gold Coast IVF and I was so happy with the practice. I had a great experience there. If you have any specific questions, feel free to pm me. Good luck!
