nycdoe teachers and mortgages
anyone ever use the mortgage people advertised in the uft paper,
a few of them say 0 fees
looks good but i'm always skeptical

It was way back in 2005 but I went with a bank advertised in the UFT paper. I think it did save us some on the fees. I think it was GE Capital Bank which is gone- and if I remember correctly they either sold our mortgage and closed or became Ally Bank, which is who I contacted in 2012 to refinance.
Anyway, it was all above board and legit.
