I'm absolutely 100% certain Steve Bannon will be a subject of this investigation.

(how'd I do with my alternative fact?)

I want to know the names and jobs of the supposed people that told Trump that there was 3 to 5 million people who committed voter fraud when his own Republican lawyers specifically said in writing to the court that no evidence of voter fraud was found.

So if this is the case what does he plan to do to fix the situation? Does he think that this is the reason he lost the popular vote?

uh this is not the point.

DT would want voter id to be mandatory. Which the argument is that for poor people who don't have an id this would be an obstacle for them to vote, and many of them vote democrat.

My understanding is that the claim originated from right-wing conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones at infowars.com, and Trump ran with it. http://www.snopes.com/three-million-votes-in-presidential-election-cast-by-illegal-aliens/

What's scary to think about is he's going to have an "investigation" which probably will not find any actual evidence, but will find some kind of rational to impose nationwide voting restrictions, like voter ID laws, that typically disproportionately affect minorities, elderly, and the poor. I know as someone who has had a driver's license since I was 16 having an ID doesn't sound like a huge impediment, but for people in urban areas who don't need to drive, or elderly people who don't drive, or poor people who can't afford to drive, getting an ID can be a big barrier to voting.

Alleged voter fraud can also lead to a mass purge of voter registrations that are thought to be invalid/inactive, and then voters may not realize they're no longer registered until they go to vote.

There are many examples of this happening in certain states this election cycle (e.g., North Carolina, Wisconsin, etc.), but this could be done on a federal level, which may help Trump (and probably some republican members of congress) with reelection.

A honest question,

Why are people against voter registration. You do not need a driver's license, you can just get a state issued ID card. What does that have to do with being poor? If they can get out to vote then can get out to get an ID card.

this is a good question. I think maybe (and I could be wrong) some people would be concerned about a fee associated or maybe a way to be tracked down if you have traffic violations or something? Like I said, I don't know this for sure, just thinking it through...

I'm really not trying to snotty or anything but this is like the third or fourth time you seem to assume everyone can go out and do the exact same thing and have access to the exact same things.

This is a really good article that helps clarify why voter registration can be especially difficult, even alienating, to certain classes of people. Poor voters with complicated personal histories, lack of access, failing state infrastructures - many of these may inadvertently suppress voters and discourage them from even attempting to register.

It is not always cut and dried to say, get in your car and go get an ID and register. It's incredibly narrow and classist to assume every single American has the same access.

This was talked about in another thread. There are fees for the ID, there is the difficulty for some of getting to a dmv (some states are moving them out of cities from what I've seen), some have an issue due to missing paperwork which I assume again means more fees and time away from work to have reissued.

How can it be fraud if you don't actually vote in 2 places and/or after you are dead?

Getting photo ID is NOT easy for a lot of people. Having worked with adults with I/DD for two decades I can't even tell you how many peoples' paperwork gets "lost", "misfiled" or never even existed. Some of the basics you need like a birth certificate can take months to track down or get new ones, especially if the person was born out of state. I have also seen this with the elderly, homeless and other people trapped in our "systems". Their voices need to be heard more than others and if they can't get to vote because of ID, well shame on us!

It's not. This is just another big distraction from his conflicts of interest, terrible cabinet picks, and Russian interference.

First off I have never had an exchange with you or even remember you being a part of any of my conversations here. Secondly I have never assumed that so you must be mistaking me for someone else. Thirdly it is not narrow minded of me of me to ask a question with no malintent what so ever. If you want to start bashing me or calling me names, get your facts straight as I try my hardest, which over the past few weeks has proven difficult, to engage in conversations without putting people down.

See this is where the internet is troubling. I'm not bashing you at all. And we may have not engaged but I saw on one or two other threads where you made assumptions that people had access to technology to call the WH, etc. I certainly didn't mean any harm and was only trying to point out that article provides great information that people don't even know about. I really didn't mean for you to get angry.
