Morning Sickness
What week did you start experiencing morning sickness? Anyone lucky enough to escape it altogether? What were your most successful morning sickness remedies?
Thanks!

Morning Sickness
I didn't have morning sickness per se... just periodic boughts of nausea, usually in the evening. I sucked on mints or candy, drank Pepsi, and ate bagels to combat any nausea. I was very lucky, especially being pregnant with multiples. I also took a probiotic daily which I believe helped me. Many people suggested carbs and more carbs! Never let your stomach get empty!

Re: Morning Sickness
I had it from 5.5 weeks to 16 weeks, it sucked. Carbs were the only thing that really helped and eating small frequent meals.

Re: Morning Sickness
I didn't have morning sickness, but pregnancy vertigo that began at 10w and lasted for 2 weeks. I was vomiting all day during that time. What helped was this. I was given a sample of this during one of my ER visits during that time and it helped tremendously, that I went out and bought it

Re: Morning Sickness
Still sick @29w, but 1st tri was by far the hardest. (Carrying twins, which is a big part of why.) MS kicked in just before 6w. Belly started grumbling around 10am and got worse and worse, peaking at night. Adding tart juices to water and drinking it really cold enabled me to get fluids down, along with cold, tart, juicy fruit like grapes, strawberries, and pears. Small meals and fluids separately in similarly small, frequent doses was the only way to keep things down. Dry cheerios in my purse helped me keep it together when I had to go out in public because I wasn't just nauseous; I was throwing up a lot.
In truth, medication has been my savior. I take Diclegis 3xday.

Re: Morning Sickness
I never vomited and I'm pregnant with triplets almost 13 weeks! I was VERY lucky. I did get waves of nausea especially when I didn't eat much or if I went between meals too long. Make sure you eat small meals like every 3 hours.

Re: Morning Sickness
With DS1, I started feeling queasy the day after my BFP and that continued for a while. I got sick every day for 2-3 weeks probably starting around 6 or 7 weeks. Then I got sick one or twice towards the end of the first trimester. I would take Reglan at night for several weeks to help me function, but it made me drowsy so I couldn't take it during the day. With DS2, I had a bit of nausea, but only got sick 2 or 3 times at 8 weeks and 10 or 11 weeks. This time, I started feeling nauseous between 5 and 6 weeks and it's still going strong at almost 10 weeks. The worst is in the late afternoon and evening. I've only gotten sick once so far, but my nausea is worse than what I remember from DS2.
Eating frequently, especially carbs, helps me. I always have pretzels or crackers with me. If I go too long without eating, I feel sick and I always feel awful around the same time every day. The salt and carbs really seems to help.

Re: Morning Sickness
It was different for each pregnancy:
#1... started to get nauseous around 8 weeks then it starting getting better around 11 weeks then was gone by 14 weeks. Smells bothered me a lot & I couldn't have meat, coffee, etc. I ate bagels & carbs.
#2...again started around 8 weeks, threw up a few times (never did in 1st pregnancy), nausea was worse than first time, I wanted fatty foods constantly rather than carbs, and not so many food aversions as first time & smells didn't bother me. Lasted longer too, started to taper by end of 1st tri but I didn't feel totally better till about 17 weeks.
#3... started super early-- 5 weeks, maybe even earlier & the nausea was so bad I was constantly gagging & dry heaving starting at 5 weeks, I had to eat almost constantly to avoid feeling totally sick, I would munch on Doritos all day long & hardly anything else, I found egg sandwiches in the morning to be the only breakfast I could have & cereal with milk for dinner every night, I couldn't stomach anything but that. I couldn't cook dinner for my family because the smell of cooking food would make me so sick that DH cooked every night. Nausea got dramatically better around 12/13 weeks but lingered a bit until 17 weeks.

Re: Morning Sickness
I started at about week 10 and lasted until my 2nd trimester. I got it in waves from mid-afternoon until I went to bed. And then I got it again in my 3rd trimester and it went away 3 weeks before I gave birth. Eating frequent small meals, drinking flavored water (plain destroyed me for some reason) and Altoids helped me.

Re: Morning Sickness
About 7/8 weeks and lasted til about 12/13. It was awful, I don't know how some women survive feeling sick their entire pregnancy! I threw up... a lot- everywhere from the shower, to the park, to the train station, to jetting to the bathroom at work. I would drink a can of ginger ale every morning and had a plain bagel with butter. That usually had me feeling okay for awhile. Otherwise it was carbs carbs carbs. Crackers, pretzels, bread of all kinds. I also found that smell/bad taste triggered my nausea a lot so I carried gum/mints. That helped a bit.

Re: Morning Sickness
This is my third pregnancy. On average, it started around week 6. It was a little earlier with my 2nd child. It lasted until 17 weeks with DD1 and 15 weeks with DD2. I'm 11 weeks now and it's still going strong. I hope you escape it!

Re: Morning Sickness
With DS it started at 6.5 weeks and lasted about 2 months, but got much better around 10-12 weeks.
With DD I didn't have a single wave of nausea...until I was in labor!

Same here. Carbs and Zofran were a godsend. I had morning sickness the whole pregnancy. Hence, the Zofran.
