Why not figure out the new, better vetting process before signing the order? Why not allow in those who have already been issued visas and who have been through 2 years of vetting already? It just seems they did not think this through at all and we're just rushing to do something big. I don't think they went about this the smartest way. Same with only including the countries Obama picked in 2015. The war on terror and the needs of refugees ate changing quickly. They didn't even take the time to make their own assessment of what countries to include.

Correct they did not involve the internal groups they should have. I posted the link this morning in another thread about this. Re: Bannon

It's because it was written by people who are not lawyers and are not politicians. It was written by a former conservative media head and speech writer. It was also passed without being vetted by legislators. As usual, the execution of his ideas are wrong, but I guess we should look into his heart (I'm waiting for Kellyanne to broadcast that line again).

So Clinton gets money from SA and conservatives lose their ever loving shit. But trump does it and not a peep.

Don't you know? It's ok when Trump does it. That's why they are using private email servers and not even trying to keep it secret. Also, Trump is still tweeting from an insecure phone.

But you know, Hillary's emails made her untrustworthy. Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon having your govt use private servers is less of a risk If they're republican. I'm pretty sure that's an alternative fact written somewhere in the books.

It is an interesting read. However, it doesn't change the fact that green card holders, and those with Visas that have already been vetted are being detained at US airports.

It also doesn't change the fact that Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, and Egypt are all places known to have terrorist ties, and are not on the list. Why? Could it be, that Trump has business interests in at least 3 of the those 4 countries?

HERE is an article, complete with references, about terrorism, and immigration.

The green card issue I agree needs to be relooked out and I trust it will be. Im in agreement with that. However from what I have read they are detaining but letting them in with green cards rather quickly.

I saw a press release from Reince Priebus that they intended to clarify with airport personnel that green card holders were not included in the travel restrictions.

I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on the inclusion of student/work visa holders. My SIL is a PA in Boston, and they have staff who can't get home. Google was freaking out for the same reason. Kids who are here enrolled in our universities can't get back in to attend classes. These are people who have legitimate, legally established lives in the U.S., and they are being detained in airports and investigated like criminals.

To me, this is not who we are, and I find it shameful.

I read it. A friend (and fellow LIF poster) put it on her newsfeed.

Was the EO was misinterpreted by international personnel? Was the actual EO edited before publication? Green card holders WERE affected, and unless there was some actual evidence that they were up to something, that's not ok.

The USA does a lot of business with Saudi Arabia. Their oil basically runs our economy. So I'm not shocked by their admission from the list... even though the bulk of the 9/11 hijackers were from there.

I was surprised by Pakistan's and Afghanistan's omissions from the list...
