I saw a clip on the today show this morning and it looks so interesting
It premieres tonight on HBO at 10pm
It's a documentary about people who were prescribed prescription drugs and what happens to them and their families
Just sharing, I'm really intrigued

Warning, This Drug May Kill You

After takign pain killers for my recent surgery I can see how people get addicted. I wasn't even taking anything crazy but I had very serious withdrawal symptoms when I came off them.

Its very scary!

Re: Warning, This Drug May Kill You

This is why I HATE painkillers.
I remember after having my gallbladder out they gave me some oxy. I took one or 2, but felt it didn't really do much for me. The nurse said I could use it with Motrin and for me, the Motrin helped more so I stopped taking them.

Even when I am in the throws of a Kidney stone attack- which is probably the worst pain one can experience (labor was less painful by the way) I hold out as long as possible before taking a narcotic pain killer. Which has led to me crawling around the floor in pain and my DH telling me to PLEASE take a pain pilll.

But I am just so so afraid of how easily addictive these things are.

I think that ALL medicine affect ALL people differently.

I have some Oxy in the house from some knee surgery. My doc prescribed WAY to much. But I was glad to have it in case I needed it. I had no withdrawal and no issue with it. I was also super duper super careful to take ONLY as prescribed and make sure I didn't feel like I wanted rather than needed.

but I also knew I would NEVER get addicted because I would not allow it to happen under any circumstance. I think too many people take it and think "its fine"...and they are NOT educated. I was NOT educated by my doctor, but knew well enough to be super duper careful.

But I am all to aware of how addictive they can be.
