I would be those women if I ever had a child.
I know it.

Re: NY Post article on women regretting having children
Wow.
I always wanted children, but it wasn't meant to be when I was younger. My college sweetheart dumped me as we were starting to plan our wedding. Never got really serious with anyone until I met future DH. He told me right off the bat that he did not want children. We were older at this point, me 36, he 41. I was heartbroken, made the choice to stay with my soulmate and give up my dream of having children. That's why I say I am childless not by choice. It's not because of infertility.
Fast forward to the present. While I miss having a child in my life, I also like my life the way it is now at 50 years old. I can't imagine it any way else. It's me and DH and our furbaby.

I always think everything happens (or doesn't) for a reason.
I'm sure furbaby loves all the attention

Re: NY Post article on women regretting having children
Thank you for sharing that article. I've shared it on my FB wall, and w CF friends.
I think in general the only people who ARE happy being parents are those who fit 1 or all of the below categories:
1. have family help and emotional/financial support networks 2. a willing partner (man who wants kids) (and a bonus if he has a great salary to support a SAHM lifestyle) 3. had them young and are physically fit 4. have no mental health issues or health issues
The bulk of stories posted on that article unfortunately center on women who either married the wrong man, have no parents around to help or parents w/ issues, or women who just didn't think it through properly (ie the fact that spontaneous vacations/events will never be possible again).
