Florida with kids - not Disney
Any suggestions?
My kids are super active and like to do "stuff", but also want the beach. So someplace where there may be an amusement park or water park nearby would be awesome, or anything along those lines. Thanks!

Re: Florida with kids - not Disney
We just did Clearwater and while we did not leave the hotel because we just did beach and pool EVERY. GLORIOUS. DAY , the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is nearby which I hear is great.
Also Busch Gardens Tampa is not far at all either.
I absolutely loved our vacation.
The hotel we stayed out also has a kid's club with daily activities, they lend out sand toys and pool toys, they have a movie by the pool every night- very kid friendly

Florida with kids - not Disney
We have been to Clearwater, and loved it. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is seriously no frills. It's a rescue/rehab place, but if you have fans of Winter and Hope, they will LOVE it! We went years ago and my daughter LOVED seeing Winter. Many people complain though because there isn't much to it. But, we like what they stand for there. The MOSI museum in Tampa is a short drive away and we liked that. Busch Gardens is also near there (never been though)

I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the Gulf coast.
We've stayed on Siesta Key. It's regularly voted one of the number one beaches in the country. And we love the small village feel to the town.

We are thinking about going. Could you please recommend the resort you stayed at? Tia

We stayed at Margaritaville in Hollywood. The kids loved the pools and flow rider so much, we all had a great time. I personally prefer the beauty of the beaches in Clearwater and would stay there next time with kids.

You could do the Tampa area. They have Busch Gardens there... Clearwater beach is about an hour away..
