Looking for ideas for Vacation??

Looking for ideas....
Can anyone suggest??
Punta Cana in DR thinking of going to Nickolodeon Hotel.
If we go to Fl, suggestions of Hotel with water park. This is what my 6yr old twins really want. Maybe go to Legoland, Universal?

Looking for ideas for Vacation??

Marriott Harbour Lakes is GREAT for kids!! Not really a waterpark, but they have a slide, pirate ship, spray park. It's great. The rooms are really nice and recently refurbed. They have tons of family activities, mini golf, s'mores. It's a Marriott Vacation club, but anyone can book, and you can find cheaper weeks on ebay, redweek, etc. We have stayed there several times and always had a good experience in a studios to 2 bedrooms. It's not far from Universal. Legoland is far from everything (I think a good hour or so from what I've read).

There is also the newly refurbed Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites that used to be the former Nick Hotel. That one looks like it has a GREAT waterpark!

Re: Looking for ideas for Vacation??

Just got back from DR Nickolodeon. We loved it, few things I was not in love with one being lack of communication with staff. They basically can't keep up with the amount of visitors to the DR vs how fast they can teach English but I got an email from Management when we got back that they just hired 2 full time teachers for the staff so I am sure that will improve fast.

The place is awesome though so let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Looking for ideas for Vacation??

We went to the Nickelodeon hotel in Punta Cana last November.

While we had a wonderful time, I personally would not recommend it nor would I go back. I think you can get a much better deal in places that you aren't paying for the name. I was expecting to have Nickelodeon branding everywhere I turned for the kids. Meanwhile on the side where the rooms and restaurants were, you almost wouldn't know it was a Nick hotel.

Re: Looking for ideas for Vacation??

We just got back from Legoland. It's about an hour drive from Orlando. We stayed at the Legoland Beach Retreat which is their resort across the street form the park. There is also the legoland hotel which is essentially in the park. When I was booking the hotel was literally double the price of the Beach Retreat so we went with that and were happy with it.

For 6 year olds, LL is perfect. My son is 6 and he freaking loved it, more than Disney (much to mine and DH's horror!). In the amusement park, the rides are essentially of the same caliber as Adventureland here. There's no huge thrill roller coasters or anything like that. There's a lot for 6 year olds to do. We also did the water park which, again, is perfect for their age. It's smaller than Splish Splash but a 6 year old gets a lot out of it.

The Beach Retreat resort was super cute. Everyone is given a cottage that looks like it was built out of legos. The rooms are themed nicely. We were happy there and my kids loved it. If you have any other questions, feel free to FM.

We added a day at Sea world to our trip. It was awesome. It's a really nice park and my kids loved it. We skipped Universal because I believe my kids are too young for it (my 6 yo doesn't really know Harry Potter yet) and its really expensive so given the combo, we decided to hold off on that.
