westchester (or nearby) girls' weekend
My girlfriends and I are looking for a location for our next weekend getaway. Manhattan is the midpoint for all of us, but we'd rather not do NYC, so we're looking pretty much in Westchester (but would go to western CT, Northern NJ, Rockland, etc.).
We're pretty low-key. We like walking/EASY hiking, antiques, shopping, possibly wine or beer tasting, and of course eating!
We would like a nice, CLEAN hotel but not too pricey as some of us are on a budget.
Any suggestions? TIA!
ETA - we're going in November.

Re: westchester (or nearby) girls' weekend
Cold Spring comes to mind for hotel, hiking/walking and good food.
Mohonk has all that but is $$$.
How about Tarrytown? The Castle is a beautiful hotel and has a nice restaurant. Even if you don’t stay there, eating there is nice. There also is a Doubletree in Tarrytown that is less $ and is really nice. Can do those adventure climbing places like Spins on Hudson, Purchase college or Bronx zoo climbing place or just stick to walking Rockefeller preserve trails. You can also visit Stone Barn for dinner if you want a very $ and long eating experience or do them for lunch in the a la cart outdoor cafe. As long as you all can fit in a car, everything should be within 15-20 minutes.

Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon, NJ (I did a girls' weekend here, we stayed at the Minerals part of the resort ... I went in the fall and we used the spa, the pool, the onsite restaurants and bars, and they had classes/activities - we did a wine glass painting class).
Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa in Milton, NY - I went here with my DH, but I know a lot of people who have done girls' getaways here. Usually requires 2 night minimum, but it has a great spa (with an indoor pool where you can have wine, drinks, etc.), beautiful grounds, a fabulous farm-to-table type restaurant with a big bar, and it's near a lot of wineries and breweries (Hudson Valley region). It's also near the Culinary Institute of America if you wanted to go to one of those restaurants.
Spa at Norwich Inn -- may be too far east into CT for you.
My friends and I have also considered Emerson in the Catskills, but haven't gone there yet.
Don't know if those options are too pricey.
If you are avoiding Manhattan because of cost, a couple of years ago, 3 friends and I did a girls' night at The Giraffe Hotel on Park Ave south in the 20s. It's a boutique hotel and the 4 of us shared a room. They had a free nightly happy hour with wine, prosecco, cheese and crackers. It was a great deal. And it was very central to everything.

This is a little further than you were thinking but Hudson and Rhinebeck are really nice spots.
