Embarrassing gym stories (and i have one)
At the gym today, a guy asked me to spot him while he was doing heavy bench presses. Only problem - i've never spotted someone before and had no idea what to do (and was nervous that i couldn't be helpful with the amount of weight he was doing anyway!). I was like, um, so where do i stand and what do I do? lol. He looked perplexed, and then said never mind, and asked another guy to help him. I was flattered that he asked. But now i feel like such a... girl  So embarrassing! (And now that i'm thinking about it - wouldn't it have been awkward even if i knew how? Pretty sure my crotch would have needed to be above, or close to, his head  )
Please share your awkward / embarrassing stories so i feel like less of a loser!

Omg do you think maybe he was trying to hit on you or something? Because thats just odd to me. Like what if he dropped the weights or something? You wouldn't have been able to lift such heavy weights off him.

My DH said the same thing - he was like no offense, but most guys lifting heavy aren’t going to ask a girl to spot them who knows! Just awkward since I see the same people all the time and I’m sure I’ll see him again. Guess I’ll be the girl who has no clue how to spot someone and/or the subject of a failed hit-on attempt

Yes. Def sounds strange he would ask a girl to spot him.
Speaking of gym stories, years ago my friend was working out with her trainer and went to get water and wound up tripping (still not clear if this was on the mat or over her own feet-there are differing versions) and hit her mouth on the side of a machine and chipped one of her teeth. It was pretty noticeable but she was so embarrassed she just wanted to finish the workout and forget it. Her trainer was like your mouth is jacked up, you can’t go around looking like that so she had to call her dental emergency number. It took her awhile to be able to show face in there again.

its a different angle and they usually can handle most of the weight. I've spotted guys lifting very heavy on both squats and bench.

Yeah. Usually they just may need a little help to get the last few reps up - they don't actually need someone to save them from a barbell crushing them, haha.
But I don't think the average person knows that. I only do because the huge trainers at the gym used to ask me for a spot and I didn't get it until they explained.
Or he was hitting on you, which also happens lol

I did the same. right after the workout only to have rolled my ankle, spraining it.
I ended up sitting on the treadmill laughing as 3 ppl were like, OMG are you ok?
Ive been out almost 3wks from OTF. *sigh*

I was listening to music while running on the treadmill and started to sing out loud. I couldn't figure out why everyone was staring at me till when the song was over and I realized everyone could hear me singing.

Omg
I haven’t done that. But I’m always afraid of my headphones malfunctioning or something - and everyone somehow hearing my nerdy music out of my phone. It happened recently when my Bluetooth headphones disconnected randomly. I have some embarrassing stuff on there!

I just had my embarrassing gym moment!!
A little background... the gym I used to go to had weighted valls that weren't well inflated so they didnt bounce.
Today, my trainer had me do ball slams. I slammed it and went to grab it quickly...
Well, these balls are well inflated and it BOUNCED back. AND SLAMMED ME RIGHT BACK... ON THE CHIN.
I felt so stupid lol
My head is killing me and my ego is bruised lol
